So where do I start? Well I can honestly say that being creative has always been a part of my life, and a huge part of who I am. I have been colouring, drawing, painting, sewing and collaging since I can remember. I wanted to go to Art College since I knew what College was. I remember visiting Bradford Art College on a Primary School trip when I was about 8 and knowing that that is where I wanted to be, and from that moment my schooling became about getting there.
I was born and raised in Bradford (West Yorkshire) until the age of 13 when I was moved to South East Kent against my will, but it was the best thing that ever happened to me. Long story short, school was OK, I enjoyed College but I really flourished at University. I have studies Graphic Design, Fine Art and even Fashion Marketing, but ultimately ended up at The University of Kent where I gained my Degree in Visual Arts, I graduated with a 2.1 which is something I am very proud of!
Throughout everything I have done, I have come round in a full circle back to where I started…Visual Arts (comprising of Illustration and Graphic Design. So I figure I should stop stopping myself, fake it till I make it (confidence wise) and just go for it. There is so much I enjoy doing (hand and computer illustration/ designing logos, flyers, posters and t-shirts/ creating creative lettering and a new interest in fabric pattern design amongst much more). So now is the time to pursue my passions as a career. Enjoying work is very important to me as it takes up such a large part of life.
So, I’m more or less fresh out of Uni, I’d like to work in design and/or illustration and I think the most important thing to do now is get experience and hone my skills.
I am available to hire as I am happy working freelance, just go to my contact page and get in touch 🙂
